Consolidation template

€0.00Price

A free Excel template that consolidates a parent and up to three subsidiaries held for the whole year, starting from each company's own year-end figures.

What it does

  • Calculates goodwill, non-controlling interests (at fair value or proportionate share) and group retained earnings in the familiar W1–W5 workings.

  • Handles fair-value adjustments at acquisition with their deferred tax and extra depreciation, and goodwill impairment.

  • Eliminates intragroup balances (with cash and goods in transit), trading and unrealised profit in inventory, dividends and other intragroup income and expenses.

  • Produces the consolidated statement of financial position and statement of profit or loss, with profit split between owners of the parent and non-controlling interests, and a list of consolidation journals.

  • Checks that every statement balances and that the workings agree.

What you get

  • One Excel workbook (.xlsx) with an Instructions tab, the blank template and a completed worked example for a fictitious group.

  • Clearly marked input cells, protected formulas and built-in checks, with a status line on every tab.

  • Works in Microsoft Excel 2010 or later (Windows or Mac). No macros.

Scope

Subsidiaries acquired or sold during the year, changes in ownership, associates and joint ventures, foreign subsidiaries, other comprehensive income and the consolidated cash flow statement are outside its scope.

Designed for small and medium-sized businesses reporting under IFRS Accounting Standards. It is a working aid: it does not replace the Standards or professional judgement, and its scope and limitations are set out in the Instructions tab.
