Who is responsible
Waleed Asad, Dublin, Ireland, is the data controller for personal data collected through widegaap.com. You can reach me through the Suggest a question form on this site.
What the site collects
Information you give me. When you submit a question through the Suggest a question form: your name, your email address and the question itself. When you subscribe to updates: your email address. When you create a member account, enrol in a course, or place an order in the shop: the details you enter, including name and email address, and for paid orders the billing details required to complete the transaction.
Information collected automatically. Wix, which hosts this site, sets cookies and collects standard technical data including IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, referring site and time on page. This keeps the site running securely and produces aggregate visitor statistics. Wix describes its own data practices at wix.com.
Payments
Payments in the shop and for supporter plans are processed by Wix Payments and its payment providers. I do not see or store your full card details.
What I use it for
To answer questions you send me. To send updates about new posts, if you have asked for them. To provide member accounts, courses, downloads and orders. To understand, in aggregate, which material is being read. I do not sell your data, and I do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Legal bases under the GDPR
Consent for the newsletter, which you can withdraw at any time. Contract for orders, downloads and supporter plans. Legitimate interests for replying to correspondence and for keeping the site secure and working.
How long it is kept
Questions and correspondence are kept for as long as needed to answer them and for a reasonable period afterwards. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Order records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require.
Where it is processed
Wix stores and processes data on servers that may be located outside the European Economic Area. Wix applies standard contractual clauses and equivalent safeguards to those transfers.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, ask me to correct or delete it, object to processing, or ask for processing to be restricted. You can also ask for your data in a portable form. Use the Suggest a question form and I will respond. If you are not satisfied with my response, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission in Ireland at dataprotection.ie.
Cookies
Essential cookies keep the site working and remember your session if you are signed in as a member. Analytics cookies tell me, in aggregate, which pages are being read. You can manage cookies through your browser settings, though blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site working.
Changes to this policy
I will update this page if the way the site handles data changes, and I will change the date at the top when I do.
